Kamehameha Schools (KS) is the largest private college preparatory school in the nation. With several elementary schools on different islands in Hawaii and a large secondary school, KS was faced with a complex knowledge management challenge. How could the various groups and diverse audiences communicate efficiently?
To meet the challenge, DataHouse's management consulting team designed, developed and implemented the network infrastructure, workstation configuration and rollout, Web architecture, governance and user support. This included e-mail, training, security, policies and procedures.
The intranet was designed to allow dozens of content producers to publish Web pages and still have the site remain structured, organized and navigable even as it grew. The portal approach to the site guides users to the information they need. Today, this Web enterprise serves 3,500 users statewide on five islands. It has 19 Internet, intranet, extranet sites/applications.
