Job Summary
The Business Development Specialist is responsible for supporting revenue growth by identifying, qualifying, and developing new business opportunities for DataHouse products and services.
At this level, the role is execution-focused and client-facing, working closely with Sales, Product, and Marketing teams to move opportunities forward through the sales pipeline. The BD role is expected to manage assigned leads independently, understand customer needs at a business level, and clearly articulate DataHouse’s value proposition during early and mid-stage sales engagements.
In short, this role turns interest into opportunity and conversation into pipeline.
Main Accountabilities
1. Lead Qualification & Opportunity Development
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads based on defined criteria (industry, scope, budget, timeline).
- Conduct initial discovery calls to understand customer needs and business pain points.
- Convert qualified leads into sales opportunities and maintain accurate pipeline records.
2. Client Engagement & Relationship Building
- Act as the first point of contact for prospects and early-stage customers.
- Build trust through professional communication and a consultative approach.
- Support ongoing client relationships by coordinating follow-ups and next steps.
3. Sales & Proposal Support
- Work with Sales Managers and Product teams to prepare proposals, pitch decks, and RFP responses.
- Clearly communicate solution scope, high-level features, and value propositions to clients.
- Support pricing discussions and internal estimations under guidance from senior team members.
4. Market & Account Research
- Research target accounts, industries, and stakeholders (Healthcare, Government, Enterprise).
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.
- Track competitor activity and share market insights with the team.
5. Pipeline & CRM Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM systems.
- Track deal progress, risks, and next actions.
- Ensure internal alignment between BD, Product, and Delivery teams.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Marketing for messaging and sales materials.
- Coordinate with Product and Technical teams for demos and solution clarification.
- Follow internal sales processes while proactively improving efficiency.
Job Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Systems, or related fields.
Experience & Skills:
- Essential:
- 3–5 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Account Executive, or related roles.
- Experience selling or supporting B2B software, IT services, or technology solutions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
- Ability to conduct discovery conversations and understand client needs.
- Comfortable working with CRM systems and sales pipelines.
- Organized, proactive, and results-oriented.
- Desirable:
- Experience in Healthcare IT, ERP, GovTech, or enterprise systems.
- Exposure to international clients (US, APAC).
- Familiarity with sales cycles involving proposals, RFPs, or long decision processes.
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms, data platforms, or software delivery models.
- Experience working with partners (AWS, system integrators).
