Accounting Subject Matter Expert

DataHouse is a leading software company aiming at developing innovative ERP solutions for a diverse range of clients. We are seeking an experienced Accounting Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic team. The SME will play a critical role in the consulting for the development to development and implementation of the accounting module within our ERP system, specifically targeting the US market. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of US accounting standards, practices, and regulations, and will provide expert consulting to ensure our product meets and exceeds client expectations.  

1. Product Development Support: 

• Collaborate with the product development team to support the team to design, develop, and enhance the accounting module of the ERP system.
• Ensure the accounting module complies with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other relevant financial regulations.
• Provide insights on accounting processes and best practices to inform product features and functionalities. 

2. Consultation & Advisory:

• Act as the primary point of contact for accounting-related inquiries from the development team, project managers, and clients.
• Offer expert advice and solutions to optimize accounting workflows within the ERP system. 

3. Client Engagement:

• Engage with US-based clients to understand their accounting needs and requirements.
• Translate client requirements into functional specifications for the development team.
• Assist in the customization and configuration of the accounting module to meet specific client needs.

4. Training & Support:

• Create comprehensive documentation, including user guides and FAQs, to support the accounting module. 
• Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for clients during the implementation and post-implementation phases.  

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; 
• CPA or equivalent certification is highly desirable. 

Experience & Skills:  

Essential:  

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a strong knowledge in US GAAP, IFRS.
• Experience in ERP systems, preferably with a focus on accounting modules.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 

Desirable: 

• Experience working with US clients or working at US companies.
• Prior experience in a start-up environment.
• Good mindset about self-learning and result-oriented
