DataHouse has partnered with NEC to help the Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) Airports Division revive trans-Pacific travel safely. During the first project phase, the team installed thermal screening equipment at Hawaii’s airports to expedite arrivals and pull aside any travelers with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher.

Additional temperature scanning equipment and facial imaging equipment will be installed during subsequent project phases. The team expects to install all thermal screening and facial imaging equipment by December 31, 2020.

DataHouse and NEC have a shared vision and purpose for this project: to leverage technology and innovation to address both the immediate and long-term needs of our community and economy. The outcomes of this project will facilitate COVID-19 health screenings and provide a safer traveler experience that boosts Hawaii’s tourism industry.
